Imperfect You (for demo)
Written by Michael (Max) McGee, Jeff Oxford, Gianna Stansell
Rough recording sent to a Nashville producer for a pro demo. Asked for Pop style, female vocals, same key.
Won’t need to live
Sometimes I seem crazy, all I can say is “born that way”
My apologies, to Jesus, and I know that gate will wait
Not so perfect, heaven knows me, but my heart is arrow true
Got no hurry to leave this world, but I can’t live here without you
I promise this, if I stop loving you, I won’t need to live
Pinky and Brain
This song was written as a memorial to Kurt Cobain, written stylistically his way and featuring word salad lyrics that are hard to make out.
My beautiful bride says I write too many dark songs. We know that without conflict there is no drama, so I took drama and added a little bit of Robin Williams, a dash of Lennon & McCartney and a whole lot of Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs and ran with it. Hope you enjoy :-)
Brent Godfrey - Lyric co-writer, music, vocals, hollow body electric guitar, mixing, mastering

The Girl Next Door
The Girl Next Door was written when I remembered a smidgeon of a dream about the actual girl next door, Donna, when I was a teenager in Brooklyn New York, I'll keep the details private :-0
This is a song I wrote for my wife. It is a reference to her leaving with her family for a trip to Florida. It is from early in our relationship, so it has a touch of puppy love in it.
